Hi Folks,

Kendra has two hammered dulcimer workshops on the schedule, this Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop in Townsend, Tennessee! The first class, "Leadng with Both Hands" will start at 10:00 am and runs until noon. After a break for lunch, Kendra will be back from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm with a brand-new workshop called "Let's Jam!" Each class is open to players of all levels of experience and costs just $35.00, but sign up for both classes and save $10.00!  Here are complete details for each workshop:

Leading With Both Hands (10:00 am - 12:00 pm) Develop the freedom to move beyond playing memorized arrangements! By learning to lead with both hands you will gain hammer control, hand independence, and begin to play more spontaneously and creatively. We will be playing unique arrangements of simple, familiar tunes as exercises, as well as working on other exercises created specifially to develop these skills. It's a lot of fun and very challenging! 

Lets Jam! (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm) Learn all the tools you need to join a jam session with complete confidence! We will work with major and minor chords, chord progressions, and pentatonic scales, along with rhythm and back-up techniques to develop the skills to jam like a pro! After this class you'll never be worried about jamming again!

And after the workshops, be sure to hang around for our concert on the Pickin' Porch! The concert is free and will start at 7:00 pm with a great set of music from our Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop hosts, Mike and Connie Clemmer!
